Directions to Shepherd Lake Recreation Area

From the South and West:
I-287 to Exit 55 (Alt.511 to Rte. 511 North towards Wanaque)
Take 511 North approx. 7 miles
Bear right onto Rte. 697 North (Sloatsburg Road)
Take Sloatsburg Road north 2 miles to Morris Road (park entrance)
Turn right on Morris Road into park
Turn left at Shepherd Pond Road to Shepherd Lake Rec. Area

From southern Bergen County (Wyckoff, Ridgewood, Hackensack etc.):
Route 208 North to I-287 South
I-287 to Exit 55 (Skyline Drive north towards Ringwood)
Skyline Drive 4.8 miles to Rte. 511 North
511 North 1.6 miles to 697 North (Sloatsburg Rd.)
Bear right onto Rte. 697 North (Sloatsburg Road)
Take Sloatsburg Road north 2 miles to Morris Road (park entrance)
Turn right on Morris Road into park
Turn left at Shepherd Pond Road to Shepherd Lake Rec. Area

From northern Bergen County (Mahwah, Park Ridge etc.) and Rockland County NY)
Go to Suffern and get onto Route 17 North
17 North to Sloatsburg, take exit for Sterling Mine Road (County Road 72)
Sterling Mine Road west 3.3 miles to New Jersey state line
Sterling Mine Road becomes Sloatsburg Road (Route 697)
Continue 1.6 miles to Morris Road
Turn left on Morris Road into park
Turn left at Shepherd Pond Road to Shepherd Lake Rec. Area
