Governance
The ski club is a democratic organization whose officers are elected annually by the general membership. We welcome input
from all club members in the formulation of our program. As a volunteer organization, our continued success depends on the
involvement of our members in the initiation and leadership of activities.

History of Our Club
The New Jersey Nordic Ski Club was founded in 1973 as a non-profit organization. From 1976 to 1980, the club was affiliated
with the Silver Lake YMCA and offered an educational program there in cross-country skiing.
The club became independent of the YMCA in 1980. In the years since, we have worked with many other organizations that support
cross-country skiing, including the New York- New Jersey Trail Conference, the Adirondack Ski Touring Council, ABLE (Athletics
for Blind Leisure Enthusiasts), and Hostelling International.
We are a VIP (Volunteers in Parks) member with the National Park Service in recognition of our trail clearing projects at
the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
